Fence Repair in Camp Hill and Harrisburg, PA
ProLine Fence repairs leaning posts, storm damage, broken pickets and sagging gates across Camp Hill, Harrisburg and the West Shore. What We Repair
Leaning or loose posts
A leaning post is usually a footing problem rather than a fence problem. Frost heave, saturated ground and rotted or corroded post bases all let a post move, and once one post shifts the panels either side start to pull. We reset or replace the post and re-hang the affected sections so the line sits straight again.
Storm damage
Wind, fallen limbs and vehicle damage are the most common emergency calls we take. Damage is often limited to two or three panels even when the fence looks badly hit, so a repair is usually far cheaper than a replacement. We will tell you honestly which it is when we look at it.
Broken or missing pickets and panels
Individual pickets, rails and panels can be swapped without touching the rest of the run. Matching an older fence depends on the material and how much the color has weathered, and we will say up front how close a match you should expect.
Sagging gates that will not close
Gates take more wear than any other part of a fence because they move. Sagging usually comes from a hinge post that has shifted or hardware that has worn, and it is normally a same-visit fix. Latch and hinge replacement is straightforward on all three materials.
Aging fences
Not every old fence needs replacing. Where the posts are sound, re-securing rails, replacing failed sections and re-tensioning chain link can add years to a fence for a fraction of the cost of a new one. Where the posts are gone, we will tell you that too.
Chain link repair
Torn or sagging mesh, bent top rail, loose tension bands and gate problems. Chain link is the most repairable fence material we work with, and re-tensioning an existing run is often all that is needed.
How a Repair Works
Free estimate. We come out, look at the damage, check the posts and give you a price. No charge and no obligation. We tell you repair or replace. If a repair is not worth doing, we will say so rather than sell you one. The repair. Our own crew does the work. Most residential repairs are one visit. Walkthrough. We check the finished job with you before we leave.
What Affects the Cost of a Fence Repair
Fence repair pricing is not a flat rate, and any company quoting one over the phone is guessing. These are the things that actually move the number:
- How much of the fence is affected. One leaning post is a different job to fifty feet of storm damage.
- Whether posts need replacing. Resetting a post costs less than digging out and replacing one, and post work is usually the largest part of a repair bill.
- The material. Chain link is generally the least expensive to repair. Vinyl and aluminum cost more because sections are replaced as units.
- Whether we can match the existing fence. Older vinyl and aluminum can be discontinued, and colors weather over time.
- Gates. Gate hardware and gate posts carry more load and take more work than a straight run.
- Access and ground conditions. Slopes, rocky soil and tight access all add time.
- Whether damaged material has to be removed. Storm debris and old sections have to go somewhere.

What People Saying About ProLine Fence
Fence Repair FAQs
The questions we get asked most often when someone calls about a damaged fence.
Do you repair fences you did not install?
Yes. We repair leaning, damaged and aging fences of all types, regardless of who installed them originally.
How much does a fence repair cost?
It depends on how much of the fence is affected, whether any posts need replacing, and the material. Post work is usually the biggest factor. Every estimate is free and based on looking at your actual fence rather than an average.
Is it cheaper to repair or replace a fence?
Usually repair, if the posts are sound. Posts are the expensive part of any fence, so a fence with good posts and damaged panels is normally worth repairing. If the posts have gone, replacement often makes more sense, and we will tell you which one you are looking at.
How quickly can you come out?
Call us and we will get out to look at it. Storm damage and gates that will not close get priority, since an open gate is a safety problem if you have pets or children.
Can you match my existing fence?
Often yes, and we will be honest when we cannot. Older vinyl and aluminum styles are sometimes discontinued, and weathering changes color over time, so an exact match is not always possible on an older fence.
Do you repair chain link fences?
Yes. Torn or sagging mesh, bent top rail, loose tension bands and gate problems are all routine repairs, and chain link is often the most cost-effective fence to repair.
